Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD)
In New Mexico, the Elizabeth Whitefield End-of-Life Options Act gives eligible adults with a terminal illness the legal right to request prescription medication they may choose to self-administer to bring about a peaceful death.
At Millie’s Assisted Living, we respect each resident’s right to make this choice. We have supported residents who have chosen MAiD, and we allow the option here in our community.
Residents who are considering MAiD should:
Meet the legal requirements in New Mexico (must be 18 or older, a state resident, diagnosed with a terminal illness, able to make medical decisions, and able to self-administer the medication).
Notify Millie’s management early in the process so we can ensure all facility requirements are met and provide compassionate support.
Millie’s is committed to dignity, respect, and honoring each resident’s end-of-life choices. If you would like more information, please reach out to our management team, we are here to support you.
