Who We Serve

Millie’s Assisted Living is ideal for residents who do not require skilled nursing care, but may benefit from assistance with daily living tasks, companionship, wellness monitoring, and a safe, loving home environment.

Personalized Care with a Personal Touch

At Millie’s Assisted Living Community, every resident is a valued member of our family. Our personal care program is designed to enhance quality of life in the privacy and comfort of your home, while emphasizing self-reliance and promoting dignity. We don’t “do for” our residents, we “help with” daily living in a way that respects independence and individual choice.

Millie’s is licensed for up to 16 residents but we stop at 15, allowing us to maintain a warm, home-like environment with individualized attention. Located just one block from downtown Silver City, we offer a blend of comfort and community connection. Our doors are also open to local schools, churches, musicians, artists, and others who bring joy and companionship into our home.

Assisted Living and Medicaid in New Mexico

The only federal program that helps pay for assisted living is Medicaid. In New Mexico, this support is available through the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver, which allows participants to live in an assisted living facility like Millie’s.

To begin, call the New Mexico Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) at 1-800-432-2080, option 3, to start the intake process. You’ll work with them to determine your eligibility, which includes meeting income and health-related requirements.

If you are not already enrolled in Medicaid, you’ll need to apply. Once approved for the HCBS waiver, you will choose a Managed Care Organization (MCO), an insurance company contracted with Medicaid that will pay the facility directly. At Millie’s, we currently work with Presbyterian and Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico.

Please note that while Medicaid covers a large portion of assisted living costs, families may still have some expenses. For more detailed information, you can visit the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department HCBS Waiver FAQ

How to Get Started:

  1. Call the ADRC at 1-800-432-2080, option 3, to schedule an intake appointment.

  2. Determine Eligibility by reviewing your medical needs and income requirements with the ADRC.

  3. Apply for Medicaid if you are not already enrolled.

  4. Choose Your MCO (Presbyterian or Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM) once approved.
